Why study with Marcus Green?

I took the SCJP exam in 1998 and have been writing and tracking the exam ever since. I am webmaster of http://www.jchq.net one of the most popular sites aimed at this exam and I am a guest moderator and contributor at http://www.javaranch.com. Search Google on the terms

Java programmer certification

to find out more.

I have worked commercially with Java and several other programming languages. I have worked in IT since 1987 and as a programmer since 1990. I am a qualified adult education teacher teaching to degree level. I am co-author of (with Bill Brogden) of two books on the Sun Certified Java Programmers exam (for JDK 1.4). I am author of what is probably the largest freely available tutorial on the JDK 1.4 version of the exam (http://www.jchq.net/tutor)

Why study online?

The main options for studying for the programmers exam are to attend an intense full time course, typically one or two weeks. To study a general Java programming course or to study alone via books and similar material. The question to ask of a full time course is how much can you truly learn in one or two weeks? The question to ask of any course is will it truly equip me for the exam or will it be a general course that happens to cover some of the same topics as the exam.

What I offer is a course that narrowly and explicitly aims at the objectives of the exam. If it is not on the exam it will not be covered. I have spent as much time as humanly possible tracking every public comment on the course including feedback from students who have taken the exam and I have received thousands of emails in feedback.
